1. The medium of communication for the competition shall be English. All relevant information, including the online registration form, subsequent presentations shall be in English.
  2. It is mandatory that the participating institute is either NIT / IIT / IISc or equivalent or from an institute recognized by AICTE/NAAC.
  3. All the participants should have valid Indian citizenship.
  4. Participants can participate as a team only with total no. of members varying from 3 (minimum) to 5 (maximun) including Team Leader.
  5. The Team Leader should select the correct state of their college/institution/university, which will decide their zone of participation at 2nd level of screening, if qualified.
  6. The participants who have qualified the 1st level of screening are required to bring the original ID proof (mentioned in the registration form), original registration form and original technical proposal during 2nd and 3rd level screening of the exposition.
  7. It will be compulsory for each student team to have a permanent faculty of the institute as a guide. Multi-institute participation is not permitted.
  8. Technical Proposals should have only the registration number at bottom of every page. Any other or additional information like college/name etc. will make the Technical Proposal invalid and will not be considered in the exposition/competition.
  9. The Technical proposal submitted during the 2nd level of screening, shall be duly approved by the Head of the department or college/institute/ university before submission.
  10. Only completely filled registration forms in all respect shall be considered. Unsigned/incomplete applications, without signatures or seal of competent authority will be rejected.
  11. Dates finalized by organizers for different levels of screening shall be final. No request for change of dates shall be entertained.
  12. Teams failing to attend the exposition on designated date will be disqualified. Decision taken by organising committee in this regard will be final.
  13. The participants agree that no information submitted by the participants will be treated by DRUSE as confidential, including without limitation any of the information submitted at each screening level. By entering this exposition/competition, the participants expressly waive their right to have this proprietary information kept confidential.
  14. Every team and individual who submits his or her data for the purpose of participating in this exposition/competition shall be deemed to have given express consent for the processing, use, retention or disclosure of such personal data for the purposes of the conduct of the competition.
  15. By making a submission in the competition, all teams warrant and represent that to the best of their knowledge, their submission is original and does not violate or misappropriate any third party trade secret, “know-how,” copyright, patent or other intellectual property right. Participants also warrant and represent that there are no obligations of any nature, legal or otherwise, which would prohibit, restrict, or interfere with their participation in the Exposition/Competition or submission of their design report, and agree to obtain any necessary clearances, authorizations and/or approvals prior to participation.
  16. If it is found that after making the submission of proposal (i.e. innovative idea/ Concept through graphics or Concept/technologies depicted through 2D/3D models or Simulations/animations or Concept paper presentations or Mock Up/ Prototype /Working Model or Hardware and/or Software), the same is patented and contested by third party, then responsibility solely lies with the participating team/s and DRDO shall not be responsible.
  18. The prize money will be paid in INR to the Team Leader of a qualifying team. DRUSE will not entertain any dispute in this context.
  19. Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the teams receiving prizes.
  20. By entering the Exposition/Competition, each participant indemnifies DRDO from and against any losses, damages, rights, claims and actions of any kind arising from
    (i) an exclusion or disqualification of such Participant pursuant to these Rules;
    (ii) late, lost, misdirected, or unsuccessful efforts to notify winners of any prize;
    (iii) forfeiture of a prize and the selection of an alternate winner;
    (iv) late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible or unintelligible entries;
    (v) telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties of any kind;
    (vi) failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmissions;
    (vii) any condition caused by events beyond DRDO’s control that may cause the Exposition/Competition to be disrupted or corrupted; and
    (viii) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind relating to participation in this Exposition/Competition.
  21. DRDO reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or (temporarily) suspend this Exposition/Competition where required by law or a force majeure event, or it becomes technically corrupted or if for any reason the Internet portion of the Exposition/Competition is not capable of running as planned, including infections by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond DRDO’s control, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this Competition. DRDO further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify anyone found to have manipulated the Exposition/Competition or its operation. In addition, DRDO at its sole discretion may disqualify any Participant at any stage of the Exposition/Competition without being required to specify any reasons in that regard.
  22. In respect of any suits, actions, proceedings, claims or disputes in relation to this competition, the courts situated at Pune or Mumbai, India shall enjoy sole jurisdiction.
  23. Please note that no cancellations and refunds are entertained for any transactions done through DRUSE website at any stage.
  24. The decision in respect of selection/rejection of proposals taken by reviewers & organizers, will be final.
  25. All evaluations are confidential. No queries regarding the evaluation shall be entertained.
